At First Baptist Church, our vision is to share the Good News of Jesus Christ with those in our community and beyond, and to provide a place for spiritual growth for people of all ages.
WHAT WE DO
From Sunday morning worship services, to Tuesday evening Bible Studies, to Wednesday night children's ministry, First Baptist provides a variety of opportunities for people of all ages to grow in their faith in Jesus Christ.
OUR COMMUNITY
We hold a variety of events and opportunities for fellowship throughout the year, including: Movie and Meal Night, Harvest Festival, Labor Day Weekend fun, and Christmas Caroling. Check out our upcoming events for more information!
Meet Our Pastor
My name is Tom Wenzl. I was born and raised on a farm in northcentral Kansas. I earned a Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering whereupon I began working for an electric utility company in Kansas City. I earned a Master’s degree while working full time. I moved to Colorado in 1995 as a job transfer within the same company. Altogether I worked 35 years for the electric utility company. I had a Christian conversion experience in 1997. I attended various churches and held various leadership positions, including Treasurer/Elder and Associate Pastor. Along the way my wife Carol and I had 7 children, five girls naturally born, and we adopted two boys from the foster care system. Also, along the way, I enrolled in Moody Theological Seminary and earned a Master of Divinity degree in Pastoral studies. I enjoy hiking and playing drums.
